Thirty Minute Rolls

August

Measure and have ready:

1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 t. salt
3 c. flour
melt and cool 2 T. shortening

Dissolve in a large bowl:
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1 1/4 c. warm water

Add the sugar mixture to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour. Beat with an electric mixer. Add cooled shortening and beat until mixed. Grease a large pan and drop by tablespoons close together. Let rise in a warm place, covered until tops are pan level, about 30 minutes. Bake 20 minutes at 375*.
