Tangy Short Ribs

August 2, 1992


2 lbs. short ribs
1 onion, chopped
seasoned salt and seasoned pepper
1 c. barbecue sauce
1/4 . beef bouillon
1/4 c. red wine or cooking sherry
2 cloves garlic

In a large pot, combine ribs, half of the onions and the seasonings. Cover with water and add bouillon. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 1 hour. Drain, reserving 1/3 c. of the liquid. Arrange ribs in an 8" square baking dish. In a small saucepan, combine bbq sauce, wine, remaining onions and garlic. Bring to a boil and simmer for 7 minutes. Pour over ribs. Cover and bake 30 minutes at 350* Serves 4

2 c. tomato sauce..................3/4 c. tomato paste plus 1 c. water

1 c. tomato juice.....................1/2 c. tomato sauce plus 1/2 c. water
